Suspected drug dealer caught

A Vicksburg woman accused of illegally selling prescription painkillers was in jail Wednesday.

Yoko Jones, 47, 918 Harris St., was arrested at 6:23 a.m. Tuesday and charged with sale of hydrocodone, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Jones was arrested following an undercover investigation into complaints of drug activity in her neighborhood, Williams said.

Jones was held Wednesday in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail.

Jackson woman charged in fraud case

A Jackson woman accused of fraudulently using a credit card at a Vicksburg casino was held without bail Wednesday.

Betty Jean Cleveland, 54, was arrested Tuesday at Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St., where she had fraudulently used a credit card May 26, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra William said.

Another Jackson woman, Janice Kendrick, was arrested last month in the same case, Williams said.

Cleveland was held without bail in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility.

 

Gun, purse missing

A gun and purse were missing following two auto burglaries Tuesday in Vicksburg.

A .380-caliber Smith & Wesson pistol was reported stolen from a Toyota Tundra in the 10 block of Riverwood Place, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

A purse containing $350 was reported stolen Tuesday night from a Ford 500 at Catfish Row park in the 1100 block of Levee Street, Williams said.
