Karlisha Shanta Royal died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 33.

Ms. Karlisha Shanta Royal attended Forest Hill Middle and Jim High Schools in Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Charlie Amos; her grandmother, Gloria Rankin; her grandfather, Robert Cornelius Royal; her great grandmothers, Lelia Annie Robinson and Easter Copeland; her aunt, Janice Marie Robinson Edwards; and cousins, Brenda Robinson and Akeeli Cooper.

She is survived by her daughter , DeKerria Deshay Kelly; four sons, Keyshawn Montrell Williams, Jamarius Deshaun Williams, and Deyveon Marquise Williams; her mother, Robin Denise Royal; two brothers, Melvin Lee Tillis Jr. and Kentrell Bernell Tillis; her granddaughter, Amarah Shauntae Kelly, all of Jackson; eight aunts, Debra Robinson Goodman, Sharon Robinson, Gloria Cooper, Jacqueline Cooper, Andrea Royal, Dawn Royal, Kenya Cooper, and Catrina Cooper; three uncles, Gerald Royal, Robert Royal, and Cedric Lee Cooper; her grandfather, Willie Rankin; nieces, nephews; a host of cousins; Godparents, Melvin Lee Tillis, Sr., Arnda Thomas, Martha Ann Thomas and Katie Mae Barber; and numerous other relatives and friends, including Jamil Williams.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at New Mount Pilgrim MB Church, 501 N. Poplar Street, with Rev. Henry J. Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
