Michael F. Purvis died Saturday, July 18, 2015, at his home. He was 60.

Born on Oct. 1, 1954, he was the son of the late James Ernest Purvis and Dora Lee Buffington Purvis.

He had been employed as an automobile mechanic at White’s, Saxton’s, Plaza Automotive and Melsheimers. He was a train enthusiast and enjoyed nature and history.

He was preceded in death by his brother Russell “Rusty” Purvis.

He is survived by his wife, Angela D. Purvis; and three brothers, Larry Purvis (Bea) of Port Gibson; Norman Purvis (Marsha) and Raiford Purvis, both of Vicksburg.

He is also survived by uncles, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held.
