Shirley Louise Freeman

TYLER, Texas — Services for Shirley Louise Freeman, 85, of Granbury, Texas, formerly of Tyler, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with Father Mike Maxwell officiating. She will be laid to rest in a private family burial at Bascom Cemetery.

Shirley passed away Friday, July 17, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born April 3, 1930, in Clinton City, Okla., to the late N.O. and Beatrice Jones.

She graduated from Tyler High School, Tyler Junior College and the University of Texas at Tyler. She was a Tyler resident for over 70 years and had a lifelong nursing career with Dr. J.W. Birdwell working at both Trinity Mother Frances and East Texas Medical Center Hospitals. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in New Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Freeman was an avid Chapel Hill Bulldog fan for several years traveling all over the state with her husband to attend games.

She is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Morrise Dwain Freeman of Granbury; sons and daughters-in-law, Russ and Jean Freeman of Godley, Texas, and Ron and Jane Freeman of Vicksburg; grandsons, Blake Freeman (wife, Fara) of Godley and Hunter Freeman(wife, Jaime) of Long Beach, NY; granddaughters, Haley Freeman Moya (Husband, Shaun) of Vicksburg and Logan Leist of Vicksburg; great-grandsons, Walker Freeman, Jakob Moya and Peyton Leist; and great-granddaughters, Enessa Massey, Harper Freeman, Brynley Freeman, Taylor Freeman and Estelle Moya.
