Nelda Whittington Johnson died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at her home in Belmont Gardens. She was 88.

She was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg, where she was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Preston H. and Marie Forman Whittington, and her husband, Charles F. Johnson Jr. in 2012.

She was an active member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her three sons, Charles F. Johnson III of Jackson, Richard R. Johnson of Vicksburg and Andrew Johnson of Brandon; two sisters, Faye Lancaster and Kathy Ferguson, both of Vicksburg; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Johnson, Jr., James Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Jr., Andrew Johnson, Mackin Johnson and Rhea A. Fuller IV.
