PORT GIBSON — Ruby L. Phillips died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Claiborne County Senior Care in Port Gibson. She was 83.

Survivors include five sons, William Sylvester Phillips of Edwards, Gregory Phillips and Henry Phillips, both of Port Gibson, Bobby Phillips of Hermanville and Tommie Phillips of Crystal Springs; six daughters, Debra Phillips Collins of Pattison, Minerva Phillips Brummell, Verna Phillips McNeal and Regina Phillips Marbley, all of Port Gibson, Connie Phillips Brown of St. Louis and Tonya Phillips Jackson of Vicksburg; three brothers, Alphonso Thomas of Port Gibson and Cornelious Thompson and Michael Thompson, both of Chicago; a sister, Barbara Thompson of Chicago; 23 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 24, 2015, at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. The Rev. Barry Thompson will do the Eulogy. Burial will be at McCay Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Thursday, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service.
