FORT NECESSITY, La. — Funeral services for Katelyn Amber Lovitt, 18, of Madison, will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Fort Necessity Baptist Church in Fort Necessity with Brian Johnston and the Rev. Andy Stoddard officiating. Interment will follow at White Swan Cemetery in Fort Necessity under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro, La.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church.
Katelyn was born January 25, 1997, in Hattiesburg, and passed from this life Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Winnsboro.
Katelyn, a recent graduate of Madison Central High School, was very active in her community through volunteering and mentoring. She was also active in her church.
So many words can describe her such as smart, beautiful, energetic, caring, and compassionate just to name a few. She had a great love for life, she never met a stranger, and was loved by so many. Katelyn was called to her Heavenly home far too soon and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her mother, Kymberly Hensley of Fort Necessity; father, Brent Lovitt and wife Margaret of Madison; brother, Cameron Lovitt of Fort Necessity; sister, Meredith Lovitt of Madison; grandparents, Joe and Janice Hensley of Fort Necessity; great-grandmother Julia Marshall of Brandon; and other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Landon Chunn, Josh Delaughter, Ethan Flowers, Matt Huggins, Nick Jones, Chance Mooney, Chase Robbins and Justin Robbins.
