Funeral services for Jimmy Lee Cotton will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Cool Springs M. B. Church with the Rev. Byron Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Cotton died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 51.
He was a member of Cool Springs M. B. Church, where he was a member of the choir. He had worked for The Ivy Place Florist and was active in church choirs, including the Mississippi Mass Choir and Rock of Ages M. B. Church Choir, and sang with the gospel group, “The Visionaires.”
Survivors include his father, Andrew Lee Collins of Bakersfield, Calif.; mother, Shirley Mae Cotton Thornton of Vicksburg; brother, Terry Cotton of Texas; sisters Evelyn Cotton and Arnita Thornton, both of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
