Tickets are on sale now for Vicksburg’s largest shopping fundraiser.

The eighth annual Outlets at Vicksburg Shopping Extravaganza is set for Saturday, Sept. 26, Manivanh Chanprasith, the marketing manager of the Outlets of Vicksburg, told Port City Kiwanis this week.

Tickets are $20 and admission includes shopping discounts, spa treatments, lunch, wine tasting and entertainment, Chanprasith.

“It’s a day out for the girls,” she said. “We give away over $13,000 in gifts cards. Those are all donated from our stores.”

Proceeds from the event benefit Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg, said Jennifer Walker, the fundraising chairperson for JA.

“Last year they donated about $14,000,” Walker said. “Those funds directly affect our community to provide services for kids.”

Junior Auxiliary service projects include the Vicksburg CAP Center, Warren County Children’s Shelter and Camp Silvercloud.

Camp Silvercloud for special needs children became an overnight camp this year with a move from the Knights of Columbus Hall on Fisher Ferry Road to the YMCA’s Warner-Tully Camp in Claiborne County.

The organization also participates in community outreach and educational projects.

Officials hope to raise more money this year and are expecting hundreds of participants in the shopping fundraiser.

“We’ll have 500 ticketed shoppers in addition to the thousands of people who are on property anyway shopping,” Chanprasith said.

Monetary sponsorships for the event are available at several levels, Chanprasith said, though any assistance is appreciated..

“You can donate things. You can donate time. You can donate food. We’re looking for help in all capacities,” she said. “We’re not turning away anybody who wants to be part of Shopping Extravaganza. Anything you can come up with, we can work with.”
