St. Aloysius welcomed star running back DeMichael Harris back into the lineup — and then promptly lost two more starters, as well as another game.

Harris, last year’s Vicksburg Post Offensive Player of the Year, ran for two touchdowns in his first game since injuring his ankle more than a month ago, but it wasn’t enough as the Flashes lost 40-14 to Catholic school rival Greenville-St. Joseph.

St. Al (1-6) wide receiver Brandon Teller injured his knee on the opening kickoff, and lineman Cole Yearwood hurt his knee on the first defensive series. Neither returned, and it was uncertain how serious their injuries are.

“We didn’t want to lose anybody, but Cole and Brandon have both been playing really well. Hopefully we’ll get some good news on them,” St. Al coach BJ Smithhart said.

St. Joe (6-1) outscored St. Al 18-0 in the second half.

“I just think they did a good job stopping the run, and they had good players in the secondary that made plays. We needed to make a few more plays,” Smithhart said.

Tallulah Academy 44, Mt. Salus 6

Tallulah Academy quarterback Mason Todd threw two touchdown passes and added 154 yards and two more scores on the ground as the Trojans (5-1) hammered Mt. Salus (0-5) in an MAIS eight-man game.

Dakota Cone caught three passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns for Tallulah. Ryan Hodge scored on a 17-yard run and Parker Morgan on a 50-yard run.

SIA 62, Tensas Academy 26

Austin Herraney threw two touchdown passes and added another score on the ground during a 30-point first quarter as Sharkey-Issaquena Academy (5-2, 1-1 District 4-A) kept its district championship hopes alive by beating Tensas Academy (1-4, 0-3).

Herraney finished with 161 yards and three TDs on the ground, and also completed 11 of 16 passes for 148 yards. Cole Delaney ran for 157 yards and two scores, and Colby Clark had 77 yards and three TDs for SIA.

Madison Parish 40, Washington 18

Madison Parish quarterback Jarvis Williams rushed for 375 yards and four touchdowns on 35 carries to lead the Jaguars (5-0) past Booker T. Washington.

Jonathan Hall added 90 yards and a touchdown for Madison, and Kendell Coleman had 50 yards and a touchdown. As a team, Madison had 455 rushing yards.
