WC Spooktacular softball

Warren Central will host its second annual Spooktacular Softball Game Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at Lucy Young Young Field. The game will feature Warren Central softball and baseball players playing a game dressed in costumes, and all proceeds will benefit Gabrielle Butler. Butler is a former Warren Central student who is battling cancer.

Admission is $5. Children 12 and under who dress in a Halloween costume and who are accompanied by an adult with get in free and receive candy between innings. A prize will be given for the best costume.

VHS hosts college softball game

Vicksburg High will host a fast-pitch college softball game between Jackson State and East Mississippi Community College at its “Softball Swamp” field on Saturday.

The game will be played as a doubleheader at 1 and 3 p.m., and admission is $2 at the gate.

Fall tennis program

The City of Vicksburg’s youth fall tennis program is under way at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The program will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 5 to 6 p.m., and is free.

Monster Mash at Moss

Hinds Community College will host its fourth annual “Monster Mash at Moss” charity softball game Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at Joe G. Moss baseball field on the Raymond campus. Hinds’ baseball and softball teams will dress in Halloween costumes for the co-ed game, and fans are encouraged to dress up as well. There will be a trick-or-treat area for children at the ballpark.

Admission is $5, or $2 with a Hinds ID. Children 12 and under get in free. All proceeds benefit Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson.

YMCA youth basketball

Registration for the Vicksburg YMCA’s youth basketball league is open until Nov. 3. The league is open to children in grades 3-8, and the registration fee is $40 for YMCA members and $80 for non-members.

Financial assistance is available, but the registration deadline for it is Nov. 27. Games will begin the week of Nov. 30.

AJGT Buick Classic

The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the AJGT Farm d’Allie Fall Junior Classic on Nov. 21 and 22 at the Farm d’Allie Golf Club in Carencro, La.

The entry fee for the two-day, 36-hole tournament is $185 and includes green fees, tee gifts and trophies in four age divisions. The entry deadline is Nov. 19 at noon.
