A Vicksburg man accused of trying to attack someone was held without bail Tuesday.

Nicholas Clay, 20, 1107 Speed St., was arrested at 7:45 a.m. Sunday and charged with shooting into a vehicle and attempted aggravated assault, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Clay is accused of shooting into a vehicle at 3:40 a.m. Sunday in the area of Halls Ferry Road and the I-20 overpass, Williams said. The vehicle was struck at least one time, but no injuries were reported, Williams said.

Clay appeared in front of a municipal court judge Monday and was given a $60,000 bond, $30,000 for each charge, Williams said. The district attorney’s office put a hold on the bond because Clay was out of jail on a previous unrelated felony marijuana charge from April 2015, Williams said.

This case is still under investigation and they do expect additional arrests, Williams said.
