Funeral services for Louis John Brown will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at New Oak Ridge M.B. Church with the Rev. K.C. Frazier officiating.

Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from noon until the hour of service.

Mr. Brown died Monday, Oct. 26, 2015, in Bolivar County. He was 63.

Born in Vicksburg, he was a 1970 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School and a U. S. Army veteran. He was employed with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Mat Sinking Unit and was a member of New Oak Ridge M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, L. C. Welch Sr. and Ruby Lee Brown; four brothers, Arthur Ray Brown, Excell Ross, Willie Welch and Louis Welch; and two sisters, Betty Welch Dixon, and Jerlene Welch.

Survivors include three brothers, John Percy Welch Sr. of Crystal Springs, Robert Welch of Edwards and Shepeard Welch of Clinton; five sisters, Mary Louise Brown and Shirley Welch, both of Vicksburg, and Mary E. Welch of Jackson, Diane Welch and Annette Foster, both of Edwards; his fiancée; and uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
