Two men accused of burglary, armed robbery, sexual battery, rape, kidnapping and attempted credit card fraud of a woman on Mundy Street will stand trial in March.

Mark Lewis Carver Jr., 28, 162 Elizabeth Circle, and Jacorey Thomas, 20, 1103 Jefferson St., appeared Friday before Circuit Court Judge M. James Chaney to be arraigned after an indictment by the Warren County grand jury.

Both entered not guilty pleas, and Chaney set trial for both defendants on March 21, 2016.

The men are accused of kicking in the door of a home early Sept. 19, in the 1100 block of Mundy Street, attacking the 72-year-old woman, and stealing items from the home.

The victim went to a neighbor for help, and the neighbor called 911 at 6:35 a.m. The woman was taken to Merit Health River Region Medical Center, where she was examined and released.

Carver was charged with burglary of a dwelling, armed robbery and attempted credit card fraud.

Thomas was charged with burglary of a dwelling, armed robbery, two counts of sexual battery, rape and kidnapping, according to court records.
