Funeral services for Christine Gilliam Steward will be 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 29, 2015, at Triumphant Baptist Church with the Rev. Dexter Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Steward died Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 63. She was retired from the International Paper Co after 35 years of service and was a member of the Triumphant Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garfield and Zellner Sykes Gilliam; sister, Delmarie Montgomery Burns; maternal grandmother, Sirlinoir Sykes; and paternal grandmother, Idella Cage.

Survivors include her two sons, Maurice Nicole Gilliam of Vicksburg and Gregory Fitzgerald Steward of Houston, Texas; daughter, Anessia Steward Martin of Vicksburg; four brothers, Victor Gilliam, Cozell Gilliam, Jessie Gilliam and James Bay Kemp, all of Vicksburg; two sisters, Debra Johnson and Evelyn Montgomery, both of Vicksburg; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
