A look at how players from Vicksburg-area high schools did in college football and NFL games played over the weekend:
• Ole Miss offensive lineman Talbot Buys (Porters Chapel Academy) saw playing time in a 38-27 win over Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
• Mississippi State kicker Devon Bell (Warren Central) had four touchbacks on five kickoffs in the loss to Ole Miss.
• Jackson State offensive lineman Kenneth Tyler (Vicksburg High) saw playing time in a 14-10 loss to Alcorn State.
• Kentucky safety A.J. Stamps (Vicksburg High) had a team-high nine tackles — four solos and five assists — and an interception in a 38-24 loss to Louisville.
• Southern Miss offensive lineman Norman Price (Vicksburg High) started at right tackle and helped the Golden Eagles roll up 555 yards of total offense as they beat Louisiana Tech 58-24 and clinched the Conference USA West Division championship.
• Louisiana Tech cornerback Adairius Barnes (Port Gibson) had three solo tackles in the loss to Southern Miss.
• Houston Texans offensive lineman Derek Newton (Hinds AHS) started his 57th consecutive game at right tackle in a 24-6 win over the New Orleans Saints.
• New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler (Vicksburg High) had seven solo tackles in a 30-24 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night.
