Marshall Haynes Jr.

Funeral services for Marshall Haynes Jr. will be noon Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at Mount Calvary M.B. Church with the Rev. Phillips Burks officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, and Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mr. Haynes died Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 69.

Born and reared in Vicksburg, he was employed as a crane operator for 46 years at River Transportation, retiring in 2013.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Sr. and Jessie Allen Haynes; his sister, Anna “Velma” Haynes Long; and three brothers, Matthew J. Lattimore, Henry Lewis and Freddie Neal Haynes.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Lee Robison Haynes of Utica; three stepsons, Calvin White, and Charles Wilson, both of Vicksburg, and Anthony Wilson of Utica; two stepdaughters, Hope Johnson of Raymond and Juliet James of Vicksburg; one sister Sophia Clark of Vicksburg; three brothers, George Haynes, Billy Ray Allen and Ralph E. Haynes, all of Vicksburg; and other relatives.
