Warren Central soccer wallops Greenville

Nick Wright scored two goals in the first four minutes Friday night, and Warren Central went on to rout Greenville 7-0 in boys’ soccer.

Hunt Holdiness had two goals and an assist for the Vikings (7-2), while Sean Dixon had a goal and an assist. John Austin Burris scored on a penalty kick in the second half, and Theodor Stang had an unassisted goal in the first half.

Wright scored off a corner kick by Dixon in the second minute, then got his second goal two minutes later by knocking in a rebound. Holdiness, Stang and Dixon all scored before halftime to put WC ahead 5-0.

The Vikings will play Greenville again, Jan. 9 at Viking Stadium, in a Division 3-6A game. Friday’s game did not count in the division standings.

In the girls’ game, Katelyn Morson scored three goals to lead the Lady Vikes to a 3-0 win over Greenville.

Amanda Boleware and Macy Claire Joseph had assists.
