Most businesses will close at some point this week for the holiday, while others will continue to be open.

Here are some of the hours of operation of local places people might need to visit during the Christmas holiday.

For those looking to get a cooked meal, Heavenly Ham will take orders for food through Wednesday, and will be open for pickup on Thursday, Christmas Eve, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The store will be closed on Friday, Christmas Day.

Their holiday menu includes the regular ham and turkey, but it also boasts a unique sandwich.

“We are offering a turkey cranberry sandwich, which has cranberry horseradish sauce and a whipped cream on it instead of honey mustard and mayonnaise,” the store’s manager said.

He said they are also offering cheese straws, pumpkin rolls and certain dipping sauces they normally don’t have.

Rowdy’s Family Restaurant will close at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve and remain closed Christmas Day. Wednesday at 5 p.m. is the latest they can take orders for holiday meals. The restaurant offers a special holiday menu every Thanksgiving and Christmas.

“There are a few things on our regular menu that are on the holiday menu, but for the most part the holiday menu is different,” employee Allison Perkins said.

The holiday menu consists of sides like rolls, cornbread, dressing, green bean casserole, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole, potato salad and cornbread salad. Main dishes like fish, ham, turkey and a chicken tender tray are on the menu. Finally, assortments of desserts are available like Mississippi mud pie, lemon icebox pie, hummingbird cake and red velvet cake.

Waffle House is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year, and will be there for anyone looking to buy a warm meal. McDonalds will be open from 5 a.m. until midnight Christmas Eve and will be closed Christmas Day before opening at 5 a.m. the day after Christmas.

Looking for the perfect cup of coffee? Café Paradiso is open from 7 a.m. to noon Christmas Eve and will be closed until Monday, Dec. 28. Shipley Do-nuts closes at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve and will not reopen until Monday, Dec. 28. Highway 61 Coffeehouse will also close at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve, but will reopen Saturday, Dec. 26.

To pick up those last minute food items, Kroger will be open until 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day. Corner Market will be open Christmas Eve from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will close for Christmas Day.

The 24-hour shopping center Wal-Mart will close its doors for one of a few times at 8 p.m. Christmas Eve and reopen at 6 a.m. the day after Christmas.

Those in a pinch because they forgot an important item can turn to drugstores this holiday. CVS Pharmacy will be open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Eve and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Christmas Day.

Rite Aid will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Eve and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Christmas Day. The pharmacy will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

Walgreens will be open 7 a.m. to midnight Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day will open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The pharmacy will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve and closed Christmas Day.

All government offices, like the Warren County Courthouse and sheriff’s office, will officially close Thursday and Friday. However, some of these offices will call it a day by noon Wednesday. The post office will only be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

For those looking for a little entertainment for their children who are out of school, the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and be closed Thursday through Sunday. They will have the same hours the following week.

Vicksburg Warren School District and Vicksburg Catholic Schools will be closed until Tuesday, Jan. 5. Porters Chapel Academy will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4.
