Marjorie W. Brandon died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at her home. She was 84.
Mrs. Brandon was born June 8, 1931. She received an associate of arts degree from Utica Junior College and a bachelor of arts degree from Alcorn State University. She served as a Claiborne County Justice Court judge and was a teacher’s assistant in the Claiborne County Public School System for 14 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Alonzo Brandon; son, John Brandon; three sisters; Mrs. Rosalie Weddington, Mrs. Estella Ward and Mrs. Sallie Ruth Walker.
Survivors include five children, E. Kennedy Brandon of Detroit, Vivian Brandon of Clinton, Carl Brandon of Port Gibson, Maxine Brandon Johnson of Desoto, Texas, and Dennis Brandon of Vicksburg; a daughter-in-law; three brothers, Percy Williams of Fremont Calif., Leon Williams of Oakland, Calif., and Glen Williams of Hampton, Va.; two sisters-in-law; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at China Grove MB Church in Port Gibson, with the Rev. Reginald L. Walker officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
