Two Warren County men accused of entering into a building illegally and theft were held without bail Tuesday.
Kevin Hasty, 23, 100 Michael Lane, and Butch Brown, 24, 10085 Oak Ridge Road, were arrested just before 4:30 a.m. Monday, according to Warren County jail records. Hasty was charged with residential burglary and grand larceny, and Brown was charged with residential burglary, grand larceny and burglary of a church, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person with a duffle bag near the intersection of Culkin Road and Big Mama Drive, Pace said. When deputies arrived they found Hasty in a vehicle in the parking lot of a church with the duffle bag and a rifle in the passenger seat, Pace said. Deputies secured the area to search for a second suspect and found scuff marks that looked like someone had crawled under the church, Pace said. Upon investigation, Brown was found underneath insulation in the attic of the church, Pace said.
Both men are being held without bond pending their initial appearance in court Wednesday.
