William “Bill” R. Parker Sr.

William “Bill” R. Parker Sr. died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 88.
Mr. Parker was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a heavy equipment operator. He began his career with South Central Bell in Natchez in 1950, and transferred to Vicksburg in 1969, where he retired in 1978. He was a Master Mason and a member of Bovina Baptist Church.
Mr. Parker is survived by his wife, Elise Parker; sons, William “Billy Ray” Parker Jr. (Janet), James Parker (Jenny) and Donnie Parker (Rose); daughters, Cathy Faits (Ed), Marcia Parker Holland (Mike) and Anna Tonnang (Chuck); a brother, Leroy Parker; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He was affectionately loved by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, at Bovina Baptist Church.
