Amazing feats of strength displayed by destroying the indestructible can be witnessed in Vicksburg next weekend.

Mike Hagen’s Strength Team is coming to Bovina Baptist Church, 5293 U.S. 80, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to present their amazing feats of strength. The free hour and a half show will start at 6 p.m. three nights in a row next weekend.

“It’s all ages. Adults too. It’s not just a kids or youth thing. It’s going to be really a lot of fun. Everybody’s welcome and it’s totally free,” Chas Rowland, pastor at Bovina Baptist Church, said.

During the show the two to three member team of former professional athletes will show off their strength by breaking, bending and ripping multiple items not thought to be breakable like steel rods and frying pans.

“There are some pyrotechnics,” Rowland said. “They will rip phonebooks in half and tear licenses plates with their bare hands. They set up large structures with cinder blocks and two-by-fours.”

The church has worked together to gather different items people want to see broken.

“We’ve been in the process of accumulating all kinds of things that aren’t suppose to be broken and telling people to make sure that they don’t expect them back,” Rowland said.

In the show the team talks about where their strength comes from. Team members speak about how their inner strength through God is shown through their outer physical strength.

“There’s definitely a spiritual inner focus to it,” Rowland said.

He said the team would also visit a few local schools next Friday to spread an anti-bullying message to the students.

Rowland said he is not aware of the team ever visiting Vicksburg before. He met one of the team members at a separate event and worked with him to schedule a Vicksburg stop.

Rowland said the church has been preparing to accommodate the team’s diet with only baked, grilled or steamed food that has not been seasoned.

He added they eat four meals a day.

All ages are welcome to enjoy the show, and the admission is free each night.
