A section of Main Street was closed Friday morning after two utility poles were damaged.
The block of Main Street between Farmer and First North streets is closed, and traffic is being rerouted, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.
At 3 a.m. Friday two utility poles were hit by a vehicle, Shelia McKinnis of Entergy said.
“No one was injured,” Kimble said.
Entergy and the city street crew were working to repair the pole and there is no estimate on how long the repair will take, Kimble said.
“We’ve got four crews out here,” Kimble said.
McKinnis said 1,130 customers were initially without power. She said power was restored to all but two customers before 5 a.m. Friday. She hoped to have the poles restored by lunchtime.
“We are going to get it up and going as soon as possible,” McKinnis said.
