Funeral services for Eldrige Skinner Jr. will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Greater Grove Street M. B. Church with the Rev. Dr. John Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Skinner, of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at his home. He was 57.

He was the supervisor for the Animal Control Division for the city of Vicksburg and a member of the Greater Mount Lebanon M. B. Church.  He was active in many gospel groups, including the Greater Mount Lebanon Church Choir, The  Heavenly Stars, The Angelic Forces of Christ and the Chosenaires Gospel Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldrige Charles and Otha Bell Stubbs Skinner Sr.; and  his sister Sara Skinner.

Survivors include his son, Eldrige White of Vicksburg; sister, Sharon Skinner of Knoxville, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives.
