Do you think your pet has what it takes to be crowned the best of the best in Vicksburg? The Vicksburg Post wants to find out.
The annual Pet Idol competition is gearing up, and your furry, feathered or scaled companion could earn the coveted title.
“We have had a lot of fun with this project over the past few years and it is always interesting to see the variety of pets that are sometimes entered,” Post publisher Tim Reeves said.
The cost to enter your pet is just $10. After registration is closed, the fun really begins.
Voting rounds will be held, cutting the field down over the following weeks until a winner is declared.
The funds raised during this project will go to support The Post’s Newspapers In Education Program, which provides newspapers to nearly 4,000 school children in Vicksburg and Warren County.
“The success of the NIE program this year is unparalleled,” Reeves said. “We have newspapers being provided to children at every single one of our schools, helping provide a resource to our students and our teachers.”
To enter, see the directions on the full-page entry form included in each newspaper between now and the entry deadline, which is Friday, March 11, at 5 p.m.
Once voting begins, votes can be cast at a cost of just $0.25 per vote.
