Funeral services for Mable V. Evans will be 11 a. m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Locust Grove M.B. Church, with the Rev. R. L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p. m. Friday at the funeral home, and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Evans died March 6, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Frank Evans; a brother, Leslie Williams; five sisters, Blanche Buckley, Mamie Diggs, Willie Bell Johnson, Helen January and Malissa Lewis; and a stepbrother, Alex Williams.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, John January, Jacqueline Griffin, Hope Williams and Paula Williams, all of Vicksburg, Hardie Lewis of Jackson, James R. Gibbs Jr. of Ocean Springs, Malissa A. Bush of Stone Mountain, Ga., Leslie Williams Jr. of Arlington, Texas, Sherrie Hodges and Augusta Ewell, both of Riverside, Calif., Gracie Brown of Carson, Calif., Debra Williams and David Williams, both of Bryan, Texas, Patrick Williams of Hutto, Texas, Rose Dickinson, Sherick Brown and Charlene Whitley, all of California, and Betty Brown of Oregon; and a stepdaughter, Betty Smith Bell of Fresno, Calif.
