Charles Burke Guin, 46, Shreveport, La. went to his Savior, Jesus Christ, March 27, 2016, after a lengthy illness.

Charles was born in Vicksburg, on March 31, 1969; he graduated from Warren Central 1987. He received his LPN in 1989, graduated with a master’s degree from LSU in psychology, and became a licensed professional counselor in 2004. He was baptized in his Christian faith when he was 14 and served the lord until his death.

Charles was preceded in death by his father Dannie Guin; brother, Britt Abbott; his sister, Jeni Kowaluk; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Left to celebrate his life until the Lord calls us home are his mother, Camelia Davidson Abbott; sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Thomas Grant; step father and his wife, Gene and Patsy Abbott; three nieces, Anna Grant, Abby Grant and Sidney Abbott; his caregiver and companion, Dorothy Johns; and family and friends. Graveside service will be Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Dr. Matt Buckles will be conducting the service under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
