JV baseball report
WC 11, Brandon 10 – Grayson Shealy, Nathan Hearn and DeArius Henyard all doubled and drove in two runs apiece as Warren Central’s junior varsity baseball team beat Brandon. The Vikings scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and then held on for the win. WC’s Colton Norris went 2-for-3 with two runs scored
Germantown 2, Warren Central 1 – Sean Daily went 2-for-2 with a home run and a double, but Germantown scored twice in the third inning and beat Warren Central’s eighth- and ninth-grade team.
Vicksburg Packers registration
The Vicksburg Packers youth football and cheer training camp and registration will be held April 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Vicksburg Junior High football stadium on Baldwin Ferry Road. Registration and practice will continue every Monday and Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the same site. Registration is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 12. Players and cheerleaders must not turn 13 before Aug. 1. There will be teams for players 8-, 10- and 12-and-under.

Mims golf tournament
Porters Chapel Academy will host the 12th annual Bubba Mims Memorial Golf Classic April 20 at Vicksburg Country Club. The event is a four-man scramble and will begin with lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
The entry fee is $395 per four-man team and includes cart, beverages and lunch. All proceeds benefit Porters Chapel Academy. For more information, call Mark Buys at 601-636-3752.
Riverfest 5K Run
Registration is now open for the Rhythm Run at RiverFest 5K. The 5K run and race walk will take place April 16 at 8 a.m. in downtown Vicksburg, beginning at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center on Adams Street. There is also a 1-mile fun run for children 12 and under. The registration fee is $20 for the run and walk, or $15 for the 1-mile fun run.

Lynn bass tournament
The Brayden Lynn Memorial Benefit Bass Classic is scheduled for April 9 at Eagle Lake. The tournament will begin at first safe light and continue until 3 p.m. The entry fee is $100 per boat, with a $10 optional entry fee for the big bass prize. First place is guaranteed $1,000. River City Showcase
