One neighborhood was impassable Thursday morning as downed trees blocked two streets.
At 5 a.m. Thursday, trees were down on Timberlane Drive and Sweetgum Lane blocking the only entrance and exit of Timberlane subdivision, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
The trees fell on power lines, and crews had to call Entergy to the scene before the trees could be cut out of the way, he said. Once Entergy declared the lines dead the county road crew started clearing the road around 9 a.m., Pace said.
“The road will be cleared shortly,” he said.
Meteorologist Latrice Maxie said another round of severe storms are expected Thursday afternoon. She said the area has good chance of seeing heavy rain, hail, winds and chances of tornadoes.
“North of Interstate 20 is more likely to see severe storms,” Maxie said but she wouldn’t rule out south of the interstate seeing heavy storms as well.
Showers will continue into Friday with the severe weather threat ending Thursday evening, she said.
