Warren Central’s softball team scored two unearned runs in the fifth inning Saturday to beat Franklin County 5-4 at the Ole Brook Tournament in Brookhaven.
Cocoa Fultz and April Lynn both singled to start the winning rally, and then scored on two errors.
Ashley Coley also went 1-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Vikes (7-5), while Brooke Patterson was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored.
In their other tournament game Saturday, the Lady Vikes lost 4-3 to Loyd Star.
Loyd Star scored three runs in the fourth inning, including two on a single by Madison Jones, and scored the winning run on a dropped fly ball with two outs in the sixth. The game ended after that because of a tournament time limit.
Warren Central will play a key Division 4-6A game Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. at Clinton.
