Velma D. Hynum

Velma D. Hynum passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016.

She was born Feb. 2, 1930, in Akron, Ohio, to Albert Dungan and Roda Smith Dungan.

Her family moved to Mississippi when she was in grade school. She married Robert Hynum and they were together for 63 years, living most of this time in Vicksburg.

She is preceded in death her daughter, Barbara Stennet; son, Johnnie Hynum; brother, Earl Dungan; brothers-in-law, Linton Hynum, Thomas Raines, Benny Goza and Allison Wade; sisters-in-law, Mildred Hynum and Dorothy Tanner.

She is survived by her son, Jimmy (Bradis) Hynum; grandchildren, Robert Hynum of Greenville, Dennise Hasty of Madison, Stephanie Brewer of Vicksburg and Johnny Clark of Vicksburg; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Bobbie) Dungan of Port Gibson; and sisters-in-law Bobbie Dungan, Gilda Dungan, Earline Dungan, Betty Wade, Margaret Brown, Edna Raines and Barbara Hynum.

Pallbearers will be Reggie King, Philip Coach, James Muirhead, Wayne Muirhead, Billy Wayne Muirhead and J.W. Wright.

Service will be Friday April 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Glenwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday at the funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.
