St. Al will host Silliman Institute in Game 1 of a first-round Class AAA series Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Bazinsky Field. Games 2 and 3 will be played as a doubleheader Friday at Silliman.

Vikings knock off Ridgeland

Tyler McRight went 3-for-3 with three RBIs, and Taft Nesmith allowed one unearned run in five strong innings to lead Warren Central to a 5-1 win over Ridgeland on Saturday afternoon.

D.J. Lewis had two hits and scored a run, and Josh Liberman also had two hits for the Vikings (19-6).

Nesmith only struck out two batters, but didn’t walk anyone and gave up just one hit. Brooks Boolos pitched the last two innings to earn a save.

Warren Central will host Terry Monday at 6 p.m. in its regular season finale, and then play Northwest Rankin in the second round of the MHSAA Class 6A playoffs later in the week.
