Funeral services for Tom Brent Lewis will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Greater Mount Olive M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home.

Mr. Lewis died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 107.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, he was retired from Anderson Tully Lumber Co. After his retirement, he was a self-employed lawn care provider.  He was a member of Stringer Masonic Lodge No. 1 and Greater Mount Olive M.B. Church.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Jessie Mae Williams Lewis; his parents, the Rev. George and Kitty Lewis; three brothers, George Lewis, Sam Lewis and Lloyd Lewis; and four sisters, Alberta Lewis, Willie Mae Lewis, Ruby Phelps and Ardella Fisher.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Henry Lewis of Flushing, Mich., and Michael Coleman of Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Geneva Lewis Dorsey of Jackson, and Jerry Lewis Smith of Destrehan, La.; 11 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends, including his devoted companion of 24 years, Lucia Brown Hawkins of Vicksburg, and his surrogate daughter, Mary Lou Anderson, of Vicksburg.
