Lillie Hinkle

Lillie Hinkle died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at her home. She was 87.

She was born Nov. 5, 1928, in Warren County to the late Ira Jones and the late Lucille Jones. She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, and later became a member of Jones Chapel Baptist Church, where she served on the Mother Board.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Hinkle was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius Hinkle; one sister; and three brothers.

Survivors include six daughters, Lucille Wyatt of Vicksburg, LeeRetha Price, Daisy Thomas and Ethel Hinkle, all of Illinois, Gloria Madison of Clinton and Gennette Parker of Aurora, Ill.; two sons, Lucius Hinkle of Vicksburg and David Hinkle of Arlington, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Smith of North Carolina and Joann Roberts of Vicksburg; four brothers, the Rev. Jessie Jones of Louisiana, and Robert Jones, Tommy Jones and Clem Jones, all of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be noon Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church  with the Rev. Elbert Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Wednesday at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and Thursday at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
