A Warren County man reportedly shot in the head was actually suffering from head injuries sustained during a fight.

Warren County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man shot in the head on Berryman Road Tuesday evening that later information determined to be a head injury he suffered from an earlier fight in the Clear Creek area of Bovina, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Following the fight between the two adult males, one man went to see an acquaintance on Berryman Road who then reported the possible shooting, he said.

A CAT scan confirmed there was no bullet in the man’s head. He was being treated at Merit Health River Region Medical Center.
