Woman faces domestic violence charge

A Vicksburg woman faces a charge of third-offense domestic violence after her arrest Tuesday following an argument with her boyfriend, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Keysha Claiborne, 36, was being held without bail at the Issaquena Corrections Center pending a initial appearance in Municipal Court Wednesday. She was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Fayette Street.

• In another case, Quantae Montgomery faces a charge of one count uttering forgery, accused of attempting to cash a check stolen from a local business. She was arrested about 5:15 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Cherry Street.

Firearm stolen from car on Bering Street

A Charter Arms .38-caliber revolver was reported taken from a 2001 Toyota in the 100 block of Bering Street about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

• Also Wednesday, a woman’s purse and a cell phone were reported taken from a 2007 Chrysler 300 in the 4200 block of Halls Ferry Road.
