Bond set for shooting suspects

Bond was set Wednesday at $1.5 million each for two Vicksburg men at an initial appearance in Municipal Court, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

The men are accused in the Sunday shooting of a 19-year-old man on the 100 block of Elizabeth Circle.

John Shelby, 25, and Curtis Ross, 20, are being held without bail at the Warren County Jail. They are accused of shooting the man numerous times with a handgun as he was walking on Elizabeth Circle.

The victim, who has not been identified, remains in critical condition at University of Mississippi Medical Center.

“The motive for the shooting remains unclear,” William said.

Shelby faces charges of attempted murder, drive-by shooting and possession of weapon by a convicted felon. Ross faces charges of attempted murder and drive-by shooting.

 

Man injured in Eagle Lake wreck

A Warren County man was injured Monday when his car left the road while traveling on Eagle Lake Shore Road, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Trooper Eric Henry.

Paul Bouler, 62, was southbound on Eagle Lake Shore Road near Mississippi 465 when the car went off the right side of the road. He over corrected and crossed to the left side of the road, where the car overturned and he was ejected.

He was flown by helicopter to University of Mississippi Medical Center.
