Ethel Catherine “Babe” Maranto

ROLLING FORK — Ethel Catherine “Babe” Maranto passed away peacefully Sunday, July 31, 2016, at her home. She was 90 years old.
Babe was born in Lake Village, Ark., on Dec. 20, 1925. She and her husband A.P. Maranto resided in Anguilla and later moved to Rolling Fork. She retired in 1986 from the Mississippi Department of Human Services. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork.
She is predeceased by her husband, A.P. Maranto, and siblings.
She is survived by her son, Elvis Clark Secoy and his wife, Michelle; her grandsons, Adam Secoy (Jowilla) and Nick Secoy (Crystal); as well as her great-grandchildren, Kate, Ethan and David James.
Services will be Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork with visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and the funeral immediately following at 10:30 with Russell Stewart and Britt Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Rolling Fork.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Adam and Nick Secoy, Mike Maranto, Billy Ray, Wayne McCoy, Olivio Caselli, Randy Smith and Gus Mohamed.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Webb, Russ Fraiser, Larry Ludwig, Willie Maranto, Jimbo Newman, Merlin Richardson, Carlo Caselli, Charles Maranto, Bert Clark, Willy Bearden, John Bass and Robert Keith.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, ASPCA or Sharkey Issaquena Medical Foundation.
