A man was found shot to death in the street Wednesday night in Vicksburg.

Around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 2600 block of Moore Drive, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Bobby Nelson, 35, was found dead in the street and appeared to have been shot multiple times.

“We have not been able to establish a motive for the shooting,” Williams said.

After the shooting, officers were looking for Nicholas Smith, 23. Smith voluntarily came to the Vicksburg Police Department for questioning around 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Williams said.

“No charges have been filed at this point,” she said.

The investigation is ongoing.
