Willie James Milton passed Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center.

He was born in rural Hinds County near Utica, October 25, 1935. He was a devout lifelong member of Spring Ridge Missionary Baptist Church until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie, Sr. and Carrie Milton; wife, Ouida Milton; two sons, Jimmy and Douglas Carson; and fiancee’, Farris Atkins.

His survivors include his four daughters, Cynthia Milton and Renee (Eric) Smith both of Vicksburg, Brenda Elaine (Thomas) Peels, of Killeen, Texas, and Ruby Laverne Franklin of Jackson; three sons, Larry (Faye) Carson of Jackson, Carl (Petrina) Carson of Vicksburg and Derrick Davis of Natchez; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Carson; one brother, Eddie (Linda) Milton Jr. of Utica; two sisters, Clara (Wilbert) Willis of Vicksburg and Mary Helen Butler of Utica; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be noon on Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at Greater Grove Street Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery in Edwards under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 7 p.m., and on Friday at the church from 11am until the hour of the service.
