Unconfirmed reports indicate searchers may have found a body in the Mississippi River, while searching for Michael Collins, who was the driver of the dump truck that went into the river on Aug. 23.

Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong, contacted just a few moments ago, said he was on the riverbank with Collins’ father, Stan, but could not confirm a body had been found.

“We have heard that, and we see people working in the river about 500 yards from here, but no one has notified the family that a body has been found,” Armstrong said.
