Burglars target four stores over weekend

A security system was reported stolen from a Vicksburg business as four businesses were hit during the weekend, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
The security system was reported stolen about 8 a.m. Monday from Metro PCS, 2121 Clay St., she said, adding nothing was reported stolen in the other break-ins. Other businesses victimized included:
• State Farm Insurance, 2120 South Frontage Road, entry was gained by breaking a window.
• One Main Finance, 3046 Indiana Ave., entry was gained through a broken window.
• Fred’s, 2431 Clay St. The burglars entered the store from the rear of the building.
In other cases:
• A Vicksburg man was charged with third-offense DUI charges after his arrest early Sunday after a traffic stop, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Rex Pierce, 24, was released from the Warren County Jail after posting a $5,438 bond. He was arrested about 6 a.m. Sunday after the traffic stop at the intersection of Clay Street and Old Highway 27.
• A Vicksburg teen was arrested Sunday on a warrant for felony malicious mischief.
Jamesha Montgomery, 18, was arrested on the warrant when police responded to a fight and a records check revealed the warrant. She is accused of causing $5,000 in damage to a car parked at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive. She was released on $1,000 bond.
• Robert Cox faces a charge of third-offense domestic violence after he assaulted his girlfriend during an argument. He was arrested about 2 a.m. Monday and was being held without bail in the Issaquena County Corrections Center pending an initial appearance in Municipal Court.
