Sheila Baker Slaughter, 56 of Terry, passed away at her home Friday, Sept. 30, 2016.
Visitation was Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Stringer Funeral Home in Crystal Springs.
Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. at Stringer Family Chapel with interment following at Terry City Cemetery.
Sheila was born March 27, 1960, to the late Johnny and Francis Gray Baker.
She was raised in Vicksburg and later moved to Crystal Springs and then Terry. She was a retired registered nurse and formally employed by Methodist Medical/CMMC in Jackson. She spent most of her free time with her babies (grandchildren).
She was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Dornbusch; brothers, JC Baker, Arnold Baker, Everette Baker and Dickie Baker.
She is survived by her husband, Kent Slaughter of Terry; daughters, Amanda Smith (Brandon) of Terry and Kim Henry (JD) of Byram; sons, Greg Uzzle (Amber) of Raymond and Christopher Uzzle (Julie) of Raymond; stepdaughters, Allison Thigpen of Natchez and Patricia Waite of Gonzales, La.; stepsons, Alex Slaughter (Lucy) of Madison; sisters Judy Overstreet of Raymond, Theresa Ramshur (Riley) of Vicksburg and Shirley Rogers of Georgia; brother, Arthur Baker of Vicksburg; and her beloved grandchildren, Zack, Savannah, Dillon, Haley, Hannah, Will, Laney, Emma, Brees, Fischer, Noah, John Caleb, Breana, Hunter, Becca, Austin, Hannah, Gracie, and Matthew; and two great-grandchildren.
