Jim V. “Jimmy” Pearson Sr., 65, passed away Oct. 21, 2016, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood. He was of the Baptist faith.

Born in Warren County, he lived in Vicksburg for many years, and had lived in Valley Park since 1991.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Fern G. Pearson; father, Huey Dedmon Sr.; mother, Faye Dedmon; and brother, Tony Dedmon.

He is survived by two sons, Jim Pearson Jr. (Casey) and William Pearson  (Angie), both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Lisa Reid (Eric) of Fillmore, Utah; one brother, the Rev. Huey Dedmon of Brandon; one sister, Joyce Blackledge of Bentonia; and six grandchildren, Lillie Reid, Brooklin Reid, Ariel Self, Adison Pearson, Cody Pearson and Chase Pearson.

Services will be Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Glenwood Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yazoo County.

Visitation will be Tuesday Oct. 25, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Huey Dedmon will be conducting the service under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bob Lee, Cody Pearson, Ellis Gazaway, Michael Lee, Danny Boler and Chase Pearson.  Honorary pallbearers will be J. W. Boler and Howard Nelson.
