A look at how players from Vicksburg-area high schools did in college football and NFL games played over the weekend:
• Alcorn State wide receiver Tavares Johnson Jr. (Vicksburg High) got the first start of his college career and caught four passes for 33 yards in a 41-33 loss to Southern University on Saturday.
• Belhaven linebacker Denarrius Noel (Hinds AHS) had four total tackles in a 55-21 loss to Hardin-Simmons.
• Grambling linebacker DeArius Christmas (Warren Central) had one sack in a 70-0 blowout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
• Ole Miss offensive lineman Talbot Buys (Porters Chapel Academy) saw playing time on special teams in a 40-29 loss to Auburn.
• Delta State cornerback Devontae Wilson (Warren Central) had four solo tackles, two assists, one pass breakup and one-half sack in a 49-19 loss to North Alabama.
• Cornell College (Iowa) running back Patrick Brown (Vicksburg High) had four carries for nine yards, and caught one pass for 12 yards, in a 48-36 loss to Macalester (Minnesota) College.
• New England Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler (Vicksburg High) had three solo tackles and one assist in a 41-25 win over the Buffalo Bills.
