Wyndell Davidson

Wyndell Davidson, 78, of Merigold, passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, in Clarksdale. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Vicksburg, with the Rev. Bobby Turner officiating.
Mr. Davidson was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Philadelphia to J.D. and Claudia Davidson. He graduated from Ruleville High School.
He and his first wife, Ruth, had four children together. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. He took pride in his job and was a hard worker building many bridges in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas while working for MDOT for 35 years before retiring
Later in life he married Edna Kelly. Mr. Davidson loved his family with his whole heart and always looked out for them. He had the biggest and kindest heart that drove him to help others whenever the opportunity arose. He donated to charities, sponsored children overseas, and gave blood every chance he was able to. To sum him up, he was a very giving human being.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Claudia Davidson; wife, Edna Kelly; and sisters, Sarah Dye and Margie Hearn.
Mr. Davidson is survived by his children, Marie Stephens (Mike) of Pearl, Margaret Wolverton (Ron) of Mary Esther of Fla., Boyd Davidson (Denise) of Jackson and Paul Davidson (Angela) of Brandon; sisters, Peggy Langston (Glenn) of Tupelo and Sherry Weeks of Merigold; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wolverton, Jerry Wolverton, Eddie Langston, David Weeks, Doug Hearn, and Doyle Milan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Grantham, Lon Booker, and B. B. Dye.
