Adult basketball league
Registration for the Vicksburg Park and Recreation Department’s men’s and women’s adult basketball leagues will continue through Dec. 30. The registration fee is $125 per team, plus an extra $5 fee for each non-city resident. The total team fee will not exceed $175.
Registration packets can be picked up at either the Parks and Recreation office at 100 Army-Navy Drive or at the Jackson Street Community Center. A mandatory coaches meeting will be held Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation offices.

City tennis sessions
The City of Vicksburg’s tennis program will conduct a free youth clinic and practice sessions during the fall. Sessions are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The clinic is for children ages 5 to 18, and there is no charge to participate. Arrowhead Golf tourney
The Arrowhead Junior Golf Tour will host the AJGT Crown Buick Junior Fall Classic at Beau Chene Golf Club in Mandeville, La., Dec. 3 and 4.
The two-day, 36-hole tournament is ranked by the Junior Golf Scoreboard.
The tournament entry fee is $185 and includes two days of green fees, tee gifts, and trophies in four age divisions. The registration deadline is Nov. 30. To enter the event or for more information, call Diane Ford at 985-630-3066 or visit arrowheadjgt.com.
Jingle Bell Half Marathon
The Jingle Bell Half Marathon and 5K is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17 in Monroe, La. The Half Marathon will begin at 8 a.m. near the River Market and wind through downtown Monroe. The 5K race will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the same location.
The registration fee for the Half Marathon is $75 through Nov. 25, $85 from Nov. 26 through Dec. 15, and $95 on race day.
The fee for the 5K is $30 through Dec. 15, and $35 on race day.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Louisiana Purchase Council of the Boy Scouts of America. For more information, or to register, visit apexendurance.com/ or call 318-325-4634.
Tori Bowie Day at USM
Southern Miss will honor Tori Bowie on Friday at its home football finale against Louisiana Tech. Bowie, a former Southern Miss track and field star, won three medals at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.
Fans attending the football game, which begins at 3 p.m., will receive a commemorative mini poster, and there will be an in-game ceremony honoring Bowie.
The entire day is being labeled “Tori Bowie Day,” and is presented as a joint effort between the Southern Miss Department of Athletics and the City of Hattiesburg.
