Virginia Beach, Va. — Peggy L. Holt, 87, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. 

A Celebration of Life was held on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, at 11 a.m., with visitation one-hour prior at Thalia Lynn Baptist Church, 4392 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Burial was private.

Mrs. Holt was born June 10, 1929, to the late William Dan Wright and Irene Burnett Fields Wright in San Antonio, Texas, and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She was a dedicated Navy wife to her husband, Robert, for 61 years. She supported him at duty stations all over the country while raising their four children, eventually settling in Virginia Beach.

Peggy was a very active member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and extremely close to her church family. She opened her arms and heart to everyone she met, especially children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Capt. (Ret.) Robert E. Holt, and son David W. Holt.

Mrs. Holt is survived by her children, Marilyn Holt of Vicksburg, Connie Anderson and husband Brian of Virginia Beach, and Edwin Holt of Ocean, N.J.; granddaughter Caitlin Holt of Thonotosassa, Fla.; great-grandson Jude; daughter-in-law Viveca Holt; and many precious nieces and nephews in Texas, Georgia and Florida.
