William T. Ewing Jr. “Tommy”

ANGUILLA — William T. Ewing Jr. “Tommy”, 68, of Anguilla, passed away Nov. 26, 2016, after a long-fought battle with lung cancer.
He was born to Tom and Libber Ewing on June 18, 1948.
Tommy and his wife, Mitzi, married Aug. 19, 1967, and have lived in Anguilla all of their lives, raising two loving sons, David and Justin.
Tommy was a graduate of Mississippi State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and received a degree in business administration. Tommy was a fourth generation farmer and a long time member of Anguilla United Methodist Church. He also served his community as Supervisor of District 4.
He was a devoted husband and father, and was a loyal friend to all that knew him. Tommy was a beloved “Paw Paw” to six beautiful grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Ewing; his sister, Betty Woods; and his son, David Ewing.
He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Goodman Ewing; his son, Justin Ewing (Christa); six grandchildren Cade Ewing, Samantha Ewing, Libba Ewing, Taylor Ewing, Evie Ewing, and Rodgers Ewing; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at Anguilla United Methodist Church from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.
Lannis May of Bruce United Methodist Church and Tommy Stephenson of Anguilla United Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Links Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Gamberine, Chris Martin, Jimmy Mitchell, Buddy Fortner, Russ Stigall, and Allen Woodard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacky Martin, Bud Stigall, Grover Greer, Drick Rodgers, Willie Smith, Bill Newsom, Sam Matthews, Leroy Smith, Paul Hollis, Phil Kline, Jimmy Nicholson, Pete Lewis, Russell Stewart, Donald Durst, Butch Gary, and Thad Virden.
